Processed imagery of the Canadian Badlands are controlled and
manipulated by live music. During live performances of Badlands,
networked computers are used to present four video projections.
DON
RITTER (Canadian, b. 1959) is a new media artist and a writer
on aesthetics. Since 1986, his interactive video-sound installations
and performances have been exhibited at festivals and museums
throughout Europe, North America and Asia, including SITE Santa
Fe(USA), Metrònom(Barcelona), Ars Electronica(Linz), Sonambiente
Sound Festival(Berlin), New Music America(New York City), and
ArtFuture 2000(Taipei). He hold degrees in electronics engineering,
fine arts and psychology, and a masters in visual studies from
the Center for Advanced Visual studies at the Massachusetts Institute
of Technology/MIT.
